Just apply with a standard large size caulk gun in a random pattern for cost effective application.

Green Glue has been tested in independent laboratories and has proven to be one the best sound proofing products available. Third party acoustical tests demonstrated a STC rating of 56 using green glue in a standard single stud wall with common drywall. Low Frequency sound isolation (not included in STC testing) was greatly improved over older techniques.

Thanks TMsound for the advise and patience. I applied the Green Glue on the wall of my bedroom and ceiling as suggested by Yanky and the results blew me away. I feel like I regained my privacy. Definitely recommend to anyone who is suffering from flimsy walls like I was. The install was relatively easy although the base molding broke when I removed it and had to be replaced. Clean it up before it dries because I had some spots that I didn't and this stuff won't budge!

I was going to use the buckets but the folks on the phone told me that it wasn't cost effective for the small size job I was doing. Installation was quick and easy (just a condo wall between my neighbor). The sound has definitely been reduced by about 50%. I am hoping for more as the Green Glue dries (it's only up for 4 days).
