Description

Resilmat - RMI is used to prevent structure borne noise from transmitting through the wall into the areas above and below the partition. Applied to sill plates, it reduces the transfer of sound and vibration in floors and ceiling.

Applications: Permanently resilient gasket that decouples wall assemblies from the building structure to reduce the transfer of sound and vibration. Can be used for a wide range of load ratings (1-50 psi).

Materials: Manufactured from recycled rubber and formulated with high damping acrylic polymers making it a "green" product for LEED projects.

Thickness: Available in a choice of 5mm and 10 mm thick.

Acoustical Properties: Prevents acoustic flanking. Yields exceptional results even under hard surface flooring, over concrete and wood joist construction.

LEED Credits: Can add up to 9 LEED points.

Testing:

  • Passes VOC Washington Stat IAQ Test (ASTM D5116.)

Installation: Fast and easy installation. Can be installed with mechanical fasteners, polyurethane based construction adhesives or a variety of thin-sets and mortars. Easily cut to length with a utility knife. See Installation Tab below for additional information.

Installation Guide

Step 1: Select the correct width and thickness. Review specifications section for different selections.

Step 2: Laydown the desired Resilmat- RMI where the plate will be installed and cut to length with a razor.

Step 3: Place the plate over the Resilmat - RMI and drill holes up to 3/4" in diameter, every 16" to 24" (Consult local code) whether it is wood or metal track.

Step 4: Insert the fastener through the hole in the center of the W20R Washer and then fasten the plate to the floor.
