Although it is covered by a molding, the gaps between the door or window frame and framing is a common sound leak area around your doors. These gaps can significantly compromise the soundproofing properties of your doors and the effectiveness of other soundproofing products applied to your door. This problem is easily remedied by applying a strip of this dense closed cell sponge neoprene strip.

This .75” x .375” sponge neoprene rubber strip can be stuffed into the gap or adhesive applied with a convenient PSA self-adhesive backing. To ensure maximum soundproofing effectiveness, we recommend filling in all spaces around the soundproofing rubber with acoustical caulk.

Customers Questions and Answers

1) rick j: how many feet in a role?

Trademark Soundproofing Reply: Hi Rick. "Quantity" equals "Feet". So if you choose quantity 22 you will receive 22 feet etc. There is a minimum requirement of 10 feet.

2) Mimi: Does this product compress when the door closes? I have installed a Frost King weather strip 5/16" (0.3175") in depth as a temporary solution. My door just closes. So I am concerned that if this product doesn't compress, I won't be able to close my door. Thank you.

Trademark Soundproofing Reply:

Hi Mimi. This does compress. However for sealing the jambs and header of your doors we would recommend that you look at these door header and jamb seals that are meant for such application.

3) dave: Hi, I am wondering whether this soundproofing rubber will do a better job than simple 3/4" rope backer rod? Thanks for any advice, Dave

Trademark Soundproofing Reply:

Our rubber is a closed cell high quality neoprene. It is possible that you will get good results with the backer rod as well although this rubber is more dense. Be sure to use acoustical caulk too to get a proper seal.
