Description

Gaps along your door frame is an inevitable pitfall in all soundproofing projects which can be avoided by applying a quality door seal. This convenient, self-adhesive, silicone batwing style door seal is a simple and cost effective way of creating an airtight seal along the perimeter of your door frame. Perfect for aesthetically sensitive doors or door frames, this non-invasive soundproof gasket will satisfy your basic soundproofing needs.

Available in multiple colors and easy to cut to size and install, this sealing system is very useful especially when you're looking to avoid a more complicated and messy installation process.

  • Material: Made of high quality silicone rubber available in many colors. Silicone is resistant to extreme environments and temperatures. It does not become brittle in the very cold, nor soft in the heat. Material has excellent resistance to sunlight, weather, ozone, oxidation, water and flames.
  • Backing: 3M Self-adhesive peel and stick backing. Easy to install, no screws or tools necessary.
  • Options: This product can also be purchased with an Anti-Ligature Feature which prevents it from being used for anything other than its intended purpose and will fall apart when removed from application. This option is ideal for correctional and psychiatric facilities. Contact us at 845-388-1200 for details and pricing.

Before Completing Your Purchase:

View product specs and installation instructions and make sure you understand how it is installed. Determine the amount of feet you will need by measuring the head and sides of your door molding. E.g. If you are ordering for a 7' x 3' door. You would select Length 7' and Quantity 2 then add to cart, you would then select Length 3', quantity 1 and add that to cart as well.

This batwing style has different dimensions than our standard Teardrop Shape Door Seal. The batwing style seal will work better on some doors given the different dimensions. Check out our other Soundproof Door Gasket for greater sound control properties.

Comments about Door Seal - Self Adhesive Batwing:
I like the concept and the material. However, as soft as it is, it will not compress enough to allow the door to shut fully. This makes it useless. Not sure if my doors are not installed properly, causing the problem, but that's not something I am able to change.

Customers Questions and Answers

1) Phillip K: is 8' the longest lengths this comes in?

Trademark Soundproofing Reply: Yes.

2) David : Hi, I have 8' french doors for my home office and would like to do some soundproofing on them. What are the biggest differences between the batwing and teardrop door seals? I assume these could be used at the top of the door in addition to the sides? I like the price of the batwing much better than the teardrop. Also, would one of these be used for the seal where the two french doors come together? Additionally, I have a 3/4 inch gap at the bottom of the door that I'm considering your automatic door bottoms for. Do these have to go on the outside (push) side of the doors or can they go on the inside (pull) side of the doors? I'm just concerned about them being unattractive from the outside, and I'm not handy enough to cut a slot in the bottom of my doors for the mortised version. Thank you, David

Trademark Soundproofing Reply: Both the teardrop and batwing are similar and you can use them in the corner of the wood astragel where the door comes together (if there is an astragel). The ADB must go on the push side only in order to function.
