UL Fire-Rated Light and Speaker Covers

  • Applications: FF109300 are the only flexible recessed light enclosures designed to stop air and sound leakage through recessed lighting. It is versatile and can be used to protect recessed speakers as well. They offer significant energy savings as well as noise and draft reduction.
     
  • Design: FF109-300 light covers are dome shaped intumescent barriers made of durable, thermal insulating mineral wool. Made of flexible, lightweight and fire-safe material which is suited for a wide range of recessed light fixtures.

  • Acoustic properties:  They are designed to completely cover fixtures and exhibit excellent acoustic insulating properties.   They significantly reduce the amount of noise travelling through air gaps around light fixtures.
     
  • Fire Protection: In a fire, the intumescent material expands 5 times of its original thickness, closing the vent holes and preventing flame spread. Two vent holes in the cover reduce the risk of over-heating of the light in normal use. The high expansion and insulation properties ensure that flame spread and heat transmission are stopped for 60 minutes.   • Installation: Product does not require assembly or special tools and can be installed within seconds. The flexible material enables the cover to be fitted around obstructions or retro-fitted.  The light cover does not require maintenance but is easy to remove for fixture maintenance.
     
  • Certifications: Fire and thermally tested in accordance with UL1598 and IEC 60598-1. UL tested and approved for use with IC-rated recessed incandescent, fluorescent or LED light fixtures.

Step 1:
 Hanger bars of the light fixture shall be screwed to the joists in addition to the tabs being hammered into the joists, following the light manufacturer's installation instruction.

Step 2:
 Place Tenmat FF109 cover over the fixture. Slit the cover to fit over the hanger bars of the fixture. Cut four slits with a size up to 1" max.

Step 3:

 The wire can be fed through one of the cover vent holes located at the top. Follow the light manufacturer instructions to make proper connections.

Step 4:

Put the cover on top of the fixture. Check for secure fit and make sure the cover overhangs the hanger bars. The FF109 Light Cover must fit flush with the back surface of the drywall board.

    • FREE SHIPPING for orders over $300.00 in the USA (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). A flat fee of $19.99 will be applied to orders under $300.00.

    • Ships via major carriers, such as UPS or FedEx Ground, with tracking information provided.
  • Returns:
    • We will accept returns up until 60 days from the date of purchase.  The boxes need to be unopened with no damage and a 25% restocking fee will be charged.
    • Please call or email us to receive an RMA number before returning. No returns will be processed without an RMA number.  
    • We will provide you with a shipping address when giving you an RMA number.
    • Return shipping is customer's responsibility. 
    • If you are shipping via USPS (not recommended) do NOT require signature as we will not be able to pick up your package from local post office facility.
