TMS Silent Clips A48R is most commonly used in the process of decoupling wall framing members from existing structures, creating a "floating wall or ceiling". It is also optimal for decoupling heavy items such as, but not limited to, decoupling garage door and projector equipment.
Used in new or retrofit construction, it is designed to brace an acoustic wall to the structure without compromising sound and vibration transmission requirements. It can be used to support wall studs to increase wall heights without compromising the isolation of the wall from the existing structure. This allows walls to be braced back to the structure, cutting off any sound path to or from the structure.

How Many To Order:
Clips can be spaced up to 48" apart with spacing of up to 24" between channels. When using this spacing, divided the square footage of the area to be treated by 5. That will give a rough estimate of the amount of clips needed. In most cases you will need to compensate for being within 6" to walls/ceilings so we have found that calculating the square footage by 23% should get you close to the amount of clips needed. See Installation Tab above for layout diagram.
