3M 2552 sound and vibration damping foil tape
Dimensions: Sold per roll 2" X 36 yards. 126 lb. tensile strength.
Materials: Dead soft aluminum foil tape with viscoelastic acrylic polymer adhesive with poly-coated easy release paper liner.
Features: Chemical and solvent resistant, withstands weathering, moisture and UV exposure. Reflects heat and light while sealing out moisture and absorbing vibration.
Applications: Used to reduce structure-borne noise on vibrating metal panels and support structures. Helps to reduce vibration fatigue and wear and tear thereby lowering the risk of part loosening and displacement. For use in aerospace, appliance, automotive and HVAC industries.
Fire-Rating: Meets flame retardant requirements of F.A.R.25.853a) and can pass ASTM E -162 and ASTM-E 662 for flammability and smoke generation.
Installation: Dead soft foil tape which is pressure sensitive for easy applications. Tape is lined for user die cut capabilities. Can achieve effective damping with as little as 20% surface coverage.
Temperature Use Range: Handles temperatures from -25° to 175°F with peak damping from 32°F to 140°F.
